Getting to Koh Mook from Trang
Trang is the most convenient gateway to Koh Mook. The journey involves both a land and sea transportation, but it’s straightforward and quick.
- Minibus from Trang to Khuan Tung Ku Pier at 11 am (one departure a day) : The journey takes around 45 minutes and is the cheapest option (100-250 BHT). You can then connect with the local Ferry Boat (departure 12:30 am). The ride takes about 30 minutes (100 BHT).

*There are several flights a day between Bangkok (DMK) and Trang. Allow about 1 hour and 20 minutes of flight (Thai Lion Air, Thai AirAsia, Nok Air…)
Travel by Speedboat: You can book speedboats from all the neighbouring islands : Koh Yao Noi, Koh PhiPhi, Koh Lanta, Koh Kradan, Koh lipe, Phuket, Koh Ngai.

Getting to Koh Mook from Bangkok
If you’re coming from Bangkok, the best way to reach Koh Mook is via Trang. Here are the main options:
- By Air: The fastest and most convenient way to travel is by flying from Bangkok to Trang. Daily flights take about 1 hour 20 minutes, and once you land, you can easily continue your journey by taking a taxi or minibus to Khuan Tung Ku Pier, where you’ll catch a boat to Koh Mook.
- By Train: For those who prefer a slower, scenic journey, the overnight sleeper train from Bangkok to Trang is a great option. To be sure to have a bed, book in advance, as it fills up quickly. The train ride takes about 12 hours, and you can book a comfortable sleeper berth to rest during the trip. Once in Trang, simply take a minibus or taxi to the pier for your boat to Koh Mook.
- By Bus: The most budget-friendly option is the long-distance bus from Bangkok to Trang, which takes around 10 to 12 hours. Buses are available throughout the day and night, and once you arrive in Trang, you can continue your journey to Koh Mook via the same route as travelers arriving by train.

- Grab App: If you’re traveling in Trang and need transport to the pier, Grab is available and works similarly to Uber. However, minibuses from the bus or train station are often the cheapest option.
- Khuan Tung Ku Pier: Most ferries and longtail boats to Koh Mook depart from this pier, making it the key departure point for travelers heading to the island. The pier is relatively small but well-organized, and the boat ride offers beautiful views of the surrounding waters.
